Contractors began working on the house on Monday, June 26. J.G. Samuels Inc. of North Prairie, Wisconsin, will serve as the general contractor for the remodeling projects. J.G. Samuels is owned and operated by Tim Samuels, an alumnus and special initiate of the Kappa Omega chapter. Tim will be working with many subcontractors including carpenters, electricians and plumbers. A major advantage to having Tim serve as the general contractor is that he is allowing volunteers to complete much of the demolition work. This allows the housing corporation and the chapter to save money on construction costs. We are thankful for this cost savings, as it will ensure that projects can be completed on time and within our target budget, which will be discussed in a future post.
